Fundraising For Sustainable Organizations
FUNDS Program
The Fundraising for Sustainable Organizations (FUNDS) helps established organizations diversify and expand their funding base. Organizations that analyze potential income growth and develop a multi-year “comprehensive fundraising plan” are more likely to be financially sustainable over time.
FUNDS provides:
- Technical assistance grants of up to $6,000 for groups on the “planning track” to develop or improve their comprehensive fundraising plan
- Grants of up to $10,000 for further consultation or implementation of key elements of those plans (“implementation track”), and
- Low-interest loans of up to $50,000 to capitalize the fundraising program. For example, loans may be available to hire staff, upgrade a donor database system, start an earned income venture, or launch a membership recruitment and renewal drive.
There will be four grant cycles in 2008: January, April, July, and October. Application to the Fundraising for Sustainable Organizations program is by invitation only, and eligible groups are interviewed before being invited to apply. Due to the overwhelming interest in this small, intensive program, groups must first contact the FUNDS Manager to determine whether they are eligible to apply for the FUNDS program.
